I wanted to give a thank you card and token gift to someone to let them know they are appreciated and thought it would be nice to make co-ordinating packaging.
To make the base of the box, which holds a 42g box of Guylian Sea Horses, I used a piece of thick Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 7¼" x 7¼" and scored on all four sides at ½" and 1¾".
I then cut and folded along the score lines as shown.
Adhesive was added to the tabs to stick the base together (I have used sticky tape but multi-pupose liquid glue will work just as well).
To make the lid, I used a piece of thick Very Vanilla cardstock measuring a smidge over 6¾" x 6¾" (6 13/16ths) and scored at ¾" and 1½" on all four sides. I then cut and folded along the score lines as shown for the base.
Before constructing the lid, I ran it through the Big Shot using the largest circular die from the Eastern Medallions thinlits dies (I had to fold the flaps up to fit the lid on my plates).
I then adhered a piece of gold foil measuring 3½" x 3½" to the back of the lid before constructing it.
To decorate, using the Big Shot and gold foil, I cut the second smallest circle from the stitched shaped framelits and to this, I added a flower which I cut from Very Vanilla cardstock using more dies from the Eastern Medallions thinlits.
I placed mini Stampin' Dimensionals underneath the petals to make them stand up and topped it all off with a gold faceted gem.
The matching card was made using a piece of thick Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 8" x 4" and scored at 4". The gold foil layer measures 3½" x 3½" and the top layer measures 3⅜" x 3⅜". I used the new Detailed Trio Punch to make the decorative corners and then used the same punch to round the corners on all three pieces. As I didn't have any envelopes to fit, I quickly made one using the Envelope Punch Board following the instructions for a 4" x 4" card.
The gift bag was made using the Gift Bag Punch Board and a piece of thick Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 10" x 8¼". I followed the instructions on the board for the small sized bag.
This project was really easy to do and I think is a lovely way to give a gift.
